**ABOUT US**

The Shoreline Power Group is a Joint Venture of Aecon, AECOM and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Reporting directly to the Occupational Health Services (OHS) Manager, the Nurse will be a resource to the Environmental Health & Safety Department on various medical, occupational health and preventative initiatives for the Shoreline Power Group and Steam generator Replacement Team Joint Ventures. The position is intended to provide care at the site.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and responsible for securing and developing all records, equipment and programs related to occupational health services.

* Provide first aid at site for joint venture personnel, evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.

* Provide post injury follow up with personnel

* Maintain treatment log

* Maintain first aid cabinet and first aid room supplies

* Monitor and maintain documentation on any modified or restricted duty cases

* Develop and support early and safe return to normal duty plan in coordination with the EHS department and supervision

* Provide wellness information to joint venture personnel

* Liaise with internal claims management staff, WSIB and medical personnel regarding any claims /case related issues

* Provide basic vision test for personnel as required

* Project Managers, project personnel, estimating person

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

* Various work locations in both field and office, including stairs

* Shift work is required, including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts are 12 hours in length with a four shift on four shift off rotation.

* Travel as necessary between site locations in the Kincardine – Port Elgin area

Level specific responsibilities:

* Assists in the oversight of the medical treatment facility (MTF), including but not limited to patient evaluation and care, administration of diagnostic occupational health tests, as appropriate, and evaluating tests and their performance for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, plans, policies and procedures.

* Works with the Medical Records Technician in maintaining the medical treatment facility (MTF) library of regulatory material electronically, with working copies as needed or in hardcopy if electronic copies are unavailable.

* Assists in the development of a continuing clinical quality improvement (CQI) program to assess programs and functions in terms of regulatory compliance and best medical practices.

* Prepares reports of findings and outcomes, makes recommendations for improvements and, when approved by the Medical Director, initiates corrective actions.

* Keeps abreast of current developments in occupational health knowledge and associated laws and regulations, sharing individual's knowledge with appropriate MTF personnel.

* Facilitates and assists with patient flow within the clinic including monitors vital signs as needed, collects and documents brief history of chief complaint when needed, assists physician, physician assistants and/or directs paramedics providing care to sick or injured workers.

* Under physician direction, administers immunizations and medications.

* Applies PPD tuberculosis testing, performs and interprets hearing conservation result when needed. Performs testing such as pulmonary function (PTF/spirometry), EKG, audiometry and Breathalyzer when needed. In conjunction with the industrial hygienist and Medical Director, determines employees needing entry into various health programs (hearing, respirator, etc.).

* Makes entries into employee medical records of employee injuries, illnesses and treatment administered by project first aid and medical personnel as required by the company, client, regulations.

* Manages workers’ compensation cases and maintains workers’ compensation case files as appropriate and in accordance with the pertinent laws and regulations.

* Supervises, conducts and documents periodic health and sanitation inspections.

* May assist with simple laboratory tests and take patient specimens as directed by the Medical Director/Physician.

* Ensures that testing is performed correctly and results appropriately documented, filed and, as appropriate, entered into the occupational health information database.

* Ensures that appropriate information is provided to the employer/supervisor about medical restrictions without violating employee privacy requirements.

**Minimum Requirements**

* BA/BS plus 0 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

**Preferred Qualifications**

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**

* Registered nurse or registered practical nurse licensed to practice in good standing in the province of Ontario

* 3-5 years in an acute care or occupational health setting considered an asset.

* Basic understanding of regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety

* Detail oriented and have the ability to multitask

* Position requires a high degree of autonomy, the ability to work independently is required.

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Direct construction site experience preferred

* Ability to manage cases with a view to providing site based treatment whenever possible

**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**

* Due to the nature of work conducted by Shoreline, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment
