Sightsavers – Reino Unido – Lilongwe, Central Region – Sightsavers is looking for a Finance and Support Services Assistant for its office in Lilongwe, Malawi. The position reports to the Finance and Support Services Manager and is responsible for all aspects of Financial and Support Services within the Sightsavers Malawi programme and will participate in broader aspects of management as well as program design and implementation. Location: Lilongwe, Malawi Salary: Local terms and conditions will apply Contract: One Year Fixed Term The Finance and Support Services Assistant will support the head of Finance and Support Services, in the formulation and implementation of sound financial and administrative procedures and plans while overseeing the preparation of the financial statements and returns in accordance with statutory, regulatory and other requirements. The position also supports in strengthening financial management, accountability and capacities of partners in accordance with the Sightsavers Partnership Development Policy. The incumbent will also facilitate the development of annual budgets and monitor its implementation, as well as provide challenge and support to other organisational program formulation, assessment and development. The ideal candidate will possess as a minimum a diploma in accounting and finance as well as a professional qualification in accounting (e.g. ACCA, CIMA). They should possess extensive working experience ideally gained in an INGO environment, but experience of audit and government organisations would also be advantageous. They should also have experience in managing major donor grants (setting up grant management systems, financial reporting and monitoring tools), Project Management, Human Resource Management and Administration. Good interpersonal, communication and auditing skills together with the ability to work with project budgets, forecasts and reports and an in-depth knowledge of computer financial packages are also vital to this role.
