MECS Africa – Durban, KwaZulu-Natal – Minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position: Minimum B.Com(Accounting) or CTA or CA (SA) complete articles at a Big 4 Audit firm will be advantageous A minimum of 3 years post articles experience in a financial environment Knowledgeable of PFMA, BCEA, IFRS, VAT Act, Income Tax Act Good problem solving skills Good administration skills Good leadership skills Report Writing Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Key performance areas: Design and implement an effective finance strategy including review of finance policies under CFO guidance To manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date general ledger To liaise with internal and external auditors effectively Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by PFMA, Companies Act and other regulatory frameworks which govern the client structure and in compliance with IFRS Provide analysis and insight to results reported. Ensure that reporting deadlines are met Continually improve the reporting process by identifying, researching and implementing better reporting processes and techniques. Prepare Board submissions as directed by the CFO from time to time Ensure effective and efficient management of cash flow VAT, PAYE and Income Tax Management including providing management and oversight of Fixed Asset Register Identification of Unauthorised, Irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure Management of subordinate ensuring work is properly planned and scheduled as well as adequately trained and monitored Performance of adhoc tasks as when required by CFO… – Permanent – Full-time
