(USA-HI-Honolulu) Mid Level Environmental Engineer

**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a mid level engineer for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military munitions response and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector.

Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

+ Project and task management, client interaction, proposal writing, cost estimating, remedial systems design, overseeing implementation/construction of remedial actions, technical report writing, and mentoring.

+ Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel.

+ Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

+ Anticipated division of job-related tasks is about a 90/10 percent split between office and field work.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ BA/BS degree in Engineering or Science & 4+ years of experience or AA/AS + 6 Years of experience or diploma certificate (CANADA) + 6 years of experience or HS/GED + 8 Years of experience.

+ Valid driver’s license.

+ US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites

+ Ability to successfully obtain DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.

+ 5+ years of experience within the consulting industry, demonstrating technical leadership in conducting remedial investigations and design.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT is preferred

+ Ability to travel 10% of the time

+ All candidates considered for hire will successfully complete and pass both preemployment drug screen and background check

+ Experienced with environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.

+ 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

+ Effective oral and written communication skills

+ Knowledgeable and experience working on State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulation

+ Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.

+ Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.

+ Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.

+ Able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
