Setting and Reporting These positions are located within the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) of the Aviation Section with duty station Mopti, Bamako, Gao, Tombouctou, Menaka and Kidal, Tessali. The Air Operations Officer reports to the Chief Air Region or Unit Chief Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Air Operations Officer will be responsible for the following duties: Monitors that air operations activities are conducted in compliance with Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Standard Operating Procedures, UN directives, Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) Aviation Manual, ICAO, IATA and the host country's Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP); Works on the administration of activities related to the quality assurance and standardization (including aviation risk management); Coordinates aviation operations compliance activities and monitors technical and safety performance of aviation assets assigned to the Mission; Conducts internal audits, prepares trends analysis and recommends corrective/preventive measures; Conducts periodic inspections of airfields and helipads in the Mission area and coordinates with the personnel of ground handling companies and assigned military personnel; Coordinates maintenance programs and monitors serviceability of airfields and helipads; Reviews and makes recommendations on special missions and VIP flight requests; Develops and implements aviation standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with the DPKO Aviation Manual, ICAO, IATA and respective AIPs; Provides initial training to new flight crew personnel, and monitors that flight crews are briefed and conversant with UN policies, flight safety procedures and latest applicable aviation standard requirements; Confirms that appropriate reference documents are readily available and accessible to all flight crew and aviation personnel; Prepares inputs, data and estimates for budget propos… – Permanente – Horário completo
