(CAN-ON-Kitchener) Civil Design Specialist

Canada – Ontario, Kitchener

**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Civil Design Specialist for immediate employment in the Kitchener, Ontario office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation

+ Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff

+ Ensuring overall data quality and integrity

+ Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations

+ Prepare documentation for design projects and reports

+ Undertake quality control procedures

+ Assure that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution effort

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 4+ years of related experience

+ Technical or Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2016 and Bentley Microstation V8i

+ Proficient with MS Office Suite

+ Certified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists

+ Excellent attention to detail

+ Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients

+ Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment

+ Great time management skills

+ Ability to work in field or office conditions, and work and communicate with clients, contractors and other AECOM staff.

+ Previous experience, including construction inspection experience and design experience in surface grading, water and sewer pipe networks and detail design
