(CAN-ON-Whitby) Manager, Electrical Engineering

**Job Summary**

AECOM’s Building & Places business line is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager for immediate employment in the Whitby, ON office. The appropriately qualified candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical team including all electrical business aspects. We require someone with strong business acumen and experience managing people and multiple projects. This individual must be a licensed Engineer with the PEO and will be responsible for overseeing our active projects and for sourcing new work to keep the electrical group strong and growing. Candidates must also have proven experience leading a team through all phases of a project. Responsibilities include client communication, consultant coordination, design development, drawing review and contract administration. We are looking for an individual with experience in municipal, commercial and transit projects and broad skills in all phases of project delivery. They must have a strong, hands-on technical knowledge, document review, consultant coordination and experience in field review and contract administration.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Perform as Senior Engineer

Maintain, develop and coordinate all aspects of the Electrical Engineering practice

Prepare creative, functional and innovative designs for clients

Develop, manage and grow the electrical department

Supervise and mentor within a team environment

Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and technical staff; provide direction to help others meet objectives

Write and coordinate winning proposals, attract new clients and retain current clients as required

Manage financial and cost control aspects of electrical engineering led projects

Meet with clients to discuss potential new work and/or review project requirements

Collaborate with management on preparation of project proposals; oversee engineering development proposals and feasibility studies

Communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization

Preparation of design and contract documents, document checking, conduct construction review and contract administration throughout the duration of a project

Communicate with construction team to provide information and solve problems

**Minimum Requirements**

Candidate must have at least a University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education) to be considered for this position.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

+ 10+ years of facilities-related electrical project experience

+ Experience managing projects and people

+ Experience with electrical design for commercial, industrial, government, health care and hospitality facilities a plus

+ Experience with LEED sustainable designs

+ Experience in P3 projects.

+ Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Ontario

+ Knowledge of NEC interpretation pertaining to 480V and lower voltage design

+ Knowledge of industry standard computer software: CADD (AutoCad, or Revit or Microstation), Lighting design simulation (Visual), Load flow simulation, Power pole simulation or Grounding simulation, ETAP, SKM

+ Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

+ Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time.
