Quezon City, Metro Manila – The Winrock International-implemented, USDA-funded Building Safe Agricultural Food Enterprises (B-SAFE) is a four-year project (October 2019 – September 2023) that builds on the opportunity created by Government of Philippines' (GOP) political will to implement the Food Safety Act of 2013 and adhere to international commitments, through a participatory capacity building approach to strengthen regulatory agencies with the information, tools, and systems to improve food safety systems through evidenced-based risk analysis and management. B-SAFE works with these regulatory authorities-particularly the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Department of Health and those under the Department of Agriculture (DA)-to support the development of evidence-based standards or management procedures, train staff, increase the capacity of laboratory facilities to efficiently test key export commodities, and contribute to an enabling environment for the safe use of modern biotechnology (BT). POSITION SUMMARY: The Communication and Learning Officer is responsible for the over-all planning,development and disseminationof communication materials for the Building Safe Agricultural Food Enterprises (B-SAFE) Project. The Officer will collaborate with the project's technical staff in developingeffective information materials for events and capacity development activities, documenting project experiences through case studies, news articles, success stories, and facilitating the dissemination of these materials to stakeholders, partners, and donors through appropriate media. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees and coordinates all communication activities for the project and contributes to the development of a project communication strategy.
