The first-year resident serves as the primary physician for all patients admitted to the Pediatric Section as well as for the patients visiting Outpatient Pediatric Clinics(OPD) and Emergency Room (ER).
The residents experience in the second year expands in scope to include: Supervisory duties, direct care of critically ill neonates and children and involvement in a pediatric subspecialty.
Residents supervise the junior medical staff at the Pediatric Ward, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric emergency room.
Chief residents are appointed based on demonstrated excellence in leadership teaching and clinical performance.
