Full-time temporary up to 25/2/22 The Return to Work Consultant is accountable to the Manager WHSIM through the Team Leader Injury Management for the provision of a prompt, comprehensive, effective and efficient return to work and job seeking services in accordance with the Return to Work Act 2014 and Regulations, the Office for Public Sector Employment, Audit and Verification (AVS) system, and accreditation requirements. The Return to Work Consultant will be responsible for the provision of a consultancy / advisory service to managers / supervisors and employees and for planning and coordinating the return to work of work injured personnel to ensure best levels of recovery and minimise the impact of work related injury on the individual and for the organisation. They will maintain a portfolio of cases and work in partnership with the claims and other return to work positions, to achieve proactive intervention after work related injury, whilst contributing to an equitable and cost effective Injury Management (IM) service and reduction in the long term human and financial cost of workers compensation claims. The Return to Work Consultant will use their expertise to ensure effective management of acute and / or long term or complex cases, as designated by the Injury Management Team Leader. The Return to Work Consultant is expected to contribute to planning, policy and procedure development, and review under the direction of the Injury Management Team Leader, and actively participate and be involved with continuous quality activities.
