The Buildings + Places Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager to lead design teams for high tech data center projects across the United States. This person will provide technical and mentoring guidance for a group of civil engineering professionals in a team setting. The Project Manager will be working for civil engineering related projects including grading, roadway, stormwater, and pipe networks. This position is located in our Charleston, South Carolina office.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established civil engineering career in the industrial site development market.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of projects

+ Regularly develops and evaluates project plans

+ Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on civil/site design projects

+ Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations when necessary data are insufficient

+ Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects

+ Conducts peer reviews and makes technical presentations

+ Identifies potential clients and business lines

+ Secures and manages clients and contracts

+ Mentors Junior Staff

**Minimum Requirements**

+ BS/BA in Civil Engineering and 4+ years of experience in the planning and design of industrial site development projects

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 8+ years of experience in the in the planning and design of industrial site development projects

+ Prior experience as a Project Manager for commercial and/or industrial civil/site design projects

+ Registration as a Professional Engineer

+ Experience working with local, state and federal state permit agencies

+ Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills

+ Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

+ Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative

+ Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines

+ The ability to work with other engineering disciplines at various locations, both internal and external to AECOM

+ This position involves working in a supervisory mode with a close-knit team of Civil Engineering professionals where effective communication is an important part of the job

+ Leadership experience in proposal preparation and business development is desirable
